Our services
At Horizon Neurology, we strive to provide top quality subspecialized care in a select spectrum of neurological conditions.
Our primary areas of focus are:
Headache disorders
Movement disorders
Botulinumtoxin (Botox®) injection
-
We provide clinic visits, including new patient consultations and established (follow-up) visits.
Dr. Julius’s primary areas of focus are headache and movement disorders.
-
We are pleased to offer telehealth appointments for follow-up visits.
These visits will be available during our regular business hours. However, we may be able to offer telehealth appointments after hours (some Tuesday / Thursday evenings and some Saturday mornings).
There may be clinical situations in which only an in-person visit is appropriate, and we will advise if that is the case.
New patient consultations must be in-person.
-
We offer botulinumtoxin (Botox®) injection for a variety of indications, including:
Chronic migraine
Hemifacial spasm / blepharospasm
Dystonia
Spasticity
Hyperhidrosis
Sialorrhea
EMG-guidance is available for dystonia and spasticity injections.
We also offer occipital nerve blocks, sphenopalatine ganglion (SPG) blocks, and trigger point injections.
-
We plan to prioritize urgent “MIGRAINE RESCUE” appointments for patients who have not been able to abort their migraine with available treatments at home.
Our goal is to get you in for a brief, rapid evaluation followed by immediate treatment in the calm, quiet environment of our office.
While this service will only be available during our regular business hours, we hope it will still be helpful in keeping you out of the ER / urgent care.
-
We can assist with a limited number of forms and letters, such as FMLA and work accommodation paperwork.
Our standard fee schedule applies - these charges are not covered by insurance.
If the forms are complicated, we may require a face-to-face visit (in-office or telehealth) to complete them.
We are not able to guide / manage long-term disability, or take part in medical litigation.
-
We provide evaluation and management of Deep Brain Stimulation (Medtronic systems only) for essential tremor, Parkinson’s and dystonia.
Please note, Dr. Julius is not a neurosurgeon, and does not implant DBS himself, but rather evaluates potential candidacy, and when appropriate, will refer the patient to a functional neurosurgeon.
-
We are able to evaluate patients with essential tremor and tremor-predominant Parkinson’s for MRI-guided focused ultrasound.
Please note, Dr. Julius does not perform this treatment himself, but rather evaluates potential candidacy, and when appropriate, will refer the patient to a functional neurosurgeon.
Our mission
At Horizon Neurology, our key goal is to provide superb care in a transparent, compassionate, mutually respectful manner, enabling a strong, durable, long-term patient-physician relationship.
Top quality care
Our goal is to provide high-quality care in the areas in which Dr. Julius is most skilled. In order to provide the best possible care, we focus on what we do best.
Open collaboration
Dr. Julius believes strongly in transparency. If there is difficult news to share, he will not gloss over it. If you ask him what he would do, or how he would treat his own family member, he will readily share it. If he is out of his element or wrong, he will not hide it.
Mutual respect
The strongest patient-physician relationships are built upon a genuinely robust foundation of mutual respect. Take the unfortunate tendency of waiting at the doctor’s office for 1-2 hours, only to spend 5 minutes with the provider. Dr. Julius tries his utmost not to let either of these happen.
Compassion
There is one thing Dr. Julius has learned about the “art of medicine” that cannot be learned from textbooks or lectures - there is no replacement for the element of humanity. Even if Dr. Julius does not have an answer or solution, he will still treat you with compassion as a fellow human being.
